Aging in Hollywood is not easy, and 62-year-old Melanie Griffith is concerned that her changing face may have cost her acting jobs. A new Star Magazine report suggests that Melanie may even be dependent on cosmetic surgery. The Oscar-nominated actress and mother of the beauties Dakota Johnson and Stella Banderas as well as the son Alexander Bauer went public a few years ago. Now reports say that Melanie is doing more with her face to restore her youth and find more work.
Star Magazine cited an insider who claimed to have seen Melanie in Los Angeles in December.
"It seems like she just injected a new supply of botox and fillers into her forehead, cheeks and lips – and as always, she overdid it." She swore to her friends that she had overcome the urge to fix her face, but she is still obsessed. At that point, she practically ruined herself. "

The article quickly pointed out that there are only a few roles for Melanie. In Hollywood, the industry is beginning to change when it comes to aging and leading roles for women. Films like Wonder Woman defied tradition and questioned clichés because for decades no one believed that a film with a superhero would be a blockbuster.
Older women are beginning to see more roles opening up to them, and for many years it was believed that as you get older you don't work. Many actresses and even models turned to plastic surgery to preserve and maintain their youth just to be dissatisfied with the results.
The tide now seems to have turned and older women with more natural looks and even wrinkles continue to find themselves as lander. Some examples are Helen Mirren, Meryl Streep and Susan Sarandon.
Not everything is lost for Melanie. Although she and Antonio Banderas have been married and divorced for 18 years, he has hired her as the lead actress in his new film Akil.
