Survivor does something unprecedented for season 40. No, it's not the same type of first vents as in Survivor Season 39: Island of the Idols, but Season 40 will have a cast full of previous winners.
For Survivor: Winners at War, the CBS reality show is battling with 20 previous winners for an even bigger prize: $ 2 million. Among them are Survivor: Island of the Idols mentors Boston Rob Mariano and Sandra Diaz-Twine Survivor: Afrikas Ethan Zohn and Boston Rob's wife ] Amber Mariano .
"I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma," said Ethan in the trailer for the new season. "It's a miracle that I'm sitting here today."
"When I come back I can feel my blood start to rise", said Parvati Shallow .
In addition to the larger price, season 40 will have the Edge of Extinction twist, which was first introduced in season 38 and contains Survivor's own currency called the fire brand. These tokens allow players to buy items, foods, and benefits. With the Edge of Extinction twist, players on the edge can still make new money, but if they're sent to another player, they'll have to give all their money and benefits to another player and start over.
"It's the biggest battle in survivor history," longtime host Jeff Probst teased the trailer that was released for the new season.
