Angel Olsen: Whole New Mess [Jagjaguwar]
Before going into a studio in 2018 to complete All Mirrors, Angel Olsen recorded early versions of his songs in a church studio in Washington. Songs like "New Love Cassette", "Lark Song" and "Chance (Forever Love)" rub their shoulders with two new tracks, "Whole New Mess" and "Waving, Smiling". In a statement accompanying the record, Olsen said she wanted the recordings to capture the raw feelings of the songs' vulnerability. “The songs are completely different in my opinion. They all have different feelings because the music behind them is really different, ”she told Pitchfork.
